Firefighters responded to the mobile home, at 5229 Michigan Ave. lot 375, at 8:09 p.m. Tuesday. When they arrived, firefighters found a heavy plume of smoke coming from the roof of the home.

The mobile home is in the Arbor Meadows neighborhood.

The fire started on the outside of the mobile home near the front door. The flames spread into the attic and caused significant damage to the home. It took about 45 minutes for firefighters to get the blaze under control.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family. No one was injured in the fire and the cause is still under investigation.
