The Saline Celtic Festival's executive committee is looking for ways to get self-sustaining status, according to a story on the Saline Reporter.
The festival's treasurer, Pamela Grosshans, said in order for the event to become independent, it would need a total of $65,000 in the bank — $50,000 for cash flow and $15,000 for losses due to inclement weather, the article said.
The festival generally sees a small amount of revenue before the actual event, but gets most of it the day of, and then proceeds to pay bills as they come in. The city currently handles the flow of cash for the festival.
