A grass fire in Dexter Township spread and engulfed a 10-by-10-foot backyard shed Wednesday.
"It was a little grass fire that lit a little shed," said Dexter firefighter Matt Rose.
Fire crews were dispatched to a residence near Colby and Riker roads at 4:41 p.m. for a burn pile that got out of control.
The fire was out within ten minutes, Rose said.
The residence on the property was never threatened. There are no cost estimates of how much damage the fire caused.
