Music for the end times: The U-M Marching Band's 'End of the World' performance

So, Friday marks the (alleged) end of the world, according to some readings of Mayan calendars.

Even though the world still existed as of 6 p.m. Friday, that doesn't mean hellfire won't rain down from the skies, earthquakes will tear apart the ground and humans will name a simple winter storm Draco (Note: One of these things happened).

Well, you shouldn't have to endure the end of days without one more performance by a marching band. Enter the University of Michigan Marching Band.

Performed last month at the U-M football team's final home game, the marching band performed a show revolving around the Mayan apocalypse. It has everything — foreboding end times music and then the (seemingly inevitable) celebration when we all realize "Hey, we're not dead!"

So, given that our society is going to collapse by the end of the day Friday, do yourself a favor and watch this video of the Michigan Marching Band performing their Nov. 17 halftime show, titled "End of the World." And, if we somehow happen to survive our impending doom, well ... watch it anyway, they do a pretty good job.
