The first, a homeowner who lives on Crooked Stick Court, said the suspect knocked on his door and had asked to use a phone but was refused assistance.

Later, a resident on the 1700 block of Inverness Court called to tell police a subject matching the same description had been at his home. The resident told police he gave a the man, who was barefoot, a pair of boots before the man assaulted him and left on foot with his phone.

Police said the resident sustained no injuries from the assault.

The suspect is described as a thin black man in his early 20s, 5-foot-8 with curly hair that was covered in burrs at last sighting. K-9 trackers found some clothing they believed that the man had shed, and he may be shirtless.
