A contemporary four-bedroom, five-bath, five-building farm house in Scio Township is the subject of the Detroit Free Press' latest installment in its Michigan House Envy series.
The 7,314 square-foot, single-family home owned by Melanie and Curtis Hoff was designed by Damian Farrell, of Ann Arbor-based Damian Farrell Design Group, and built in 2000. It's listed for $1.85 million.
The house sits on four acres of hardwood forest and gardens that slope down 100 feet to wetlands and the Huron River.
Each of the buildings houses separate functions but is clustered around a 60-foot corridor that lets abundant sunlight in through large windows, which look out over mature hardwood trees. The home benefits from 187 windows that let in light and showcase the natural surroundings.
The Hoffs' children are now grown, and the couple says it's time to sell.
