Two people were arrested early Sunday morning following fights at Weber’s Hotel and Restaurant in Ann Arbor, including one woman who threw glassware at other patrons.
Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush said police responded at 12:02 a.m. Sunday to the restaurant, 3050 Jackson Road, after the fights were reported.
Bush said a 23-year-old Ann Arbor man was arrested after fighting with another man. A 64-year-old man who worked security at the restaurant was punched in the face as he tried to break up the fight.
In addition to the security manager, several other patrons stepped in to help stop the fight. Bush said the melee began because one man was making comments about the other’s girlfriend.
After that brawl wrapped up, a second fight started between two women at the bar. One of the women threw glassware at other people at the bar before restaurant staff stepped in to stop the fight.
Bush said a 22-year-old woman from New Mexico was arrested in that incident. No one required medical treatment, Bush said.
