The city of Ann Arbor annexed the 3.3-acre parcel in September and the developer, Florida-based company Growwwwlee LLC, requested a rezoning of the property to R3, townhouse dwelling district. A single-family house and detached garage on the site would be demolished.
Plans show four two-story buildings varying in size with an attached one-car garage for each unit.
Proposed in October by property owner Robert Burskey, the 515 N. Fifth Ave. project calls to demolish an existing house on the property near Kerrytown and build a condo and apartment building.
A three-story, 8,400-square-foot multi-family building with two condos and two apartments would be constructed on the site. The estimated cost of the project is $925,500.

The plans went before Ann Arbor Planning Commission earlier this month, but concerns among neighbors and planning staff prompted the commissioners to postpone a vote until issues related to buffer requirements and off-site drainage could be addressed. Project architect Scott Bowers has since submitted revised plans to the city.
Bowers said the Burskeys plan to retire and live in the back condo portion of the development and rent out the apartments in the front of the building.
