Michael Radant, the 37-year-old co-owner of a downtown Chelsea eatery charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual misconduct, had a trial date of April 8 set when he appeared in the Washtenaw County Trial Court Thursday.

Attorneys said they had not been able to reach any kind of resolution in the form of a plea deal yet.

A final pretrial hearing was scheduled for Feb. 21.

A 37-year-old woman told police Radant sexually assaulted her at a residence in the 700 block of North Main Street in Chelsea on Nov. 15. The two were acquainted for some time, police said.

AnnArbor.com has previously reported that Radant is the co-owner of Ellie’s Chelsea, a burger and sandwich shop at 312 N. Main St. in the Clocktower Commons in Chelsea.
