There will be half- and full-day sessions. Half-day sessions are available for students from kindergarten to fifth grade who are novice or casual players. Full-day sessions feature an "Elementary Open," open to all experienced players in grades kindergarten through fifth. There will also be a USCF-rated section open to all experienced chess players through eighth grade. This section requires USCF membership, which can be purchased at the tournament or at www.arborchess.com.

Chess sets will be provided for the half-day kindergartners. All other players should bring a board and pieces. Players in the full-day section should bring clocks if possible. Chess supplies (sets, clocks, software, etc) will be available for sale.
