University of Michigan's Flint campus chancellor will step down in August 2014.

Coleman visited Flint in December for Person's reappointment review and decided to extend her contract by one year.
Chancellors are typically awarded five-year appointments and it's standard practice for Coleman to conduct a review if the chancellor is interested in possible reappointment to a successive five-year term.
During Coleman's visit to Flint, she solicited feedback on Person's performance thus far. According to an MLive report, a UM-Flint faculty committee determined in 2012 that Person did a poor job interacting with faculty and community leaders and that she had "failed to articulate" a vision for the university.
"With this contract extension, she and I will work closely throughout the upcoming months to ensure a smooth transition that is focused on UM-Flint's future impact," Coleman said in a statement.
Person is in her fifth year as chancellor of the Flint campus. Prior to coming to Flint, Person served as Chancellor of Indiana University at Kokomo for nine years.
"It has been a privilege to serve in this role, and rewarding to see such progress and momentum," Person said in an address to her Flint colleagues.
Person earns $265,296 annually.
