Police are investigating the second church break-in Washtenaw County in a week.

Deputies from the sheriff's office on Monday were called to Antioch Baptist Church in the 6500 block of Rawsonville Road in Ypsilanti Township for a break-in that occurred sometime overnight, police said in a news release.

The suspect or suspects entered the church by forcing open a rear door and breaking a window to get into the office. Cash was reportedly stolen.

The incident is still under investigation and there are no suspects at this time, police said.

Faith Lutheran Church in Dexter Township reported a break-in on Saturday. Police are still trying to determine if the two break-ins are related to dozens of others throughout southeastern Michigan and northern Ohio in the past few months.

"We cannot rule out that this burglary is connected to the others but we do not have any evidence that confirms that insinuation," said Sgt. Geoff Fox. "We investigate these incidents separately but always look for patterns that might indicate a common suspect."

If you have information on any of these incidents, please contact Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 1-800-SPEAKUP or the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office confidential tip line number at 734-973-7711.
