A 33-year-old Ann Arbor man scared off two intruders when he got up in the middle of the night to take care of his child early Sunday morning.
The man told police he was awakened just before 2:23 a.m. by his child and then heard footsteps downstairs at his home in the 3100 block of Redland Court.
"He went downstairs and saw two silhouettes running from his home in the front yard," Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush stated in a crime summary.
Credit cards, cash, a wallet, a game console and a green Kate Spade purse were reported stolen.
A game console was reported in a second, separate home invasion in the same neighborhood Sunday.
Police were called to a residence in the 2500 block of Whitetail Run for a home invasion that occurred sometime overnight.
A 35-year-old man and 28-year-old woman told officers that their children said their video game system was missing from the television stand.
The man and woman then checked the office to discover their wallets were missing.
An interior door that is usually locked and closed that leads to the garage was open from the previous day, police said.
Two gaming consoles, cash, wallets, credit cards and a violin and viola, both in hard cases, were reported stolen.
The neighborhood is the Foxfire subdivision, near Nixon Road and M-14.
