Battalion Chief Steven Lowe said firefighters were dispatched to the home at 7:57 p.m. Saturday to the home in the 1500 block of Dicken Drive after a passerby saw smoke coming from the garage.
Lowe said firefighters found smoke coming from both floors of the home along with smoke and fire coming from the garage once they arrived. The fire started in a first-floor living room area.
Fire damage was limited to the walls of the living room and garage, along with the floor area of the living room. However, firefighters reported smoke damage throughout the home.
There was no one home when the fire started and no one was injured. Howe did not have a damage estimate immediately available Monday.
The Ann Arbor Police Department and Huron Valley Ambulance assisted firefighters at the scene.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
