White House correspondent Scott Wilson will talk about what it's like "Chiseling Small Cracks in a Cement Wall: Covering the White House in the Age of Obama, Twitter, and the Permanent Campaign" during a lecture at the Gerald Ford Library on Thursday.
As a correspondent for the Washington Post, Wilson has been on the front lines in one of the most competitive beats around. He will discuss how this president has created an "in-house machine" to serve the president. He will also talk about how correspondents must deal with the social media aspect that often channels superficial and staged news that does not give an adequate picture of the presidency.Wilson was the winner of the 2011 Gerald R. Ford Journalism Prize for Distinguished Reporting on the Presidency.
