A downed power line caused authorities to shutdown M-14 in both directions between Barton Drive and Maple Road at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to dispatchers.
Dispatchers did not have a time when the road would be reopened, saying only that the road would be closed until further notice.
M-14 is the only major road to be closed in the wake of Tuesday’s storm, which dumped two inches of snow on the Ann Arbor area from 4 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. According to meteorologists, between three and four inches of snow are expected to accumulate in the area before the storm peters out Wednesday morning.
Emergency crews were responding to M-14 at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday to shut the freeway down. Crashes were reported on almost every major roadway in the area due to the weather, but very few injuries were reported by Tuesday evening.
