The National Weather Service urged motorists to use caution Thursday morning as light snow moved into the Ann Arbor Area.

The weather service said there would be little accumulation, but any untreated roads could become slick. The snow showers are expected to wind down by about 9 a.m.

Washtenaw County Road Commission crews were called in early to deal with the snow, said Jim Harmon, director of operations. Drivers started at 5 a.m. salting primary roads throughout the county, he said.

Thursday’s snowfall comes on the heels of a winter storm Tuesday and early Wednesday that dumped 4 to 7 inches of snow on Washtenaw County. The road crews expect to return to removing that snow on unpaved roads and subdivision streets Thursday afternoon, Harmon said.
