Eastern Michigan University police arrested a 19-year-old man Thursday who was accused of assaulting officers and resisting arrest.
The officers were called to the area outside of the EMU Dining Commons around 11 p.m. to break up a fight between two men, one of whom was a student.
Chief Bob Heighes said the fight had escalated from an argument over a woman.
When the police arrived, they attempted to break up the fight, but the non-student resisted.
"The guy kicked our officers, struggled with them," Heighes said.
The man was arrested and taken to the Washtenaw County Jail.
Heighes said the department is seeking warrants for multiple charges including resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.
No one was seriously injured in the fight.
