Two coin-operated machines pried open Sunday night had an undetermined amount of coins stolen from them, police said.
The 300 block of East Michigan Avenue in Ypsilanti, where the crime happened, is lined with commercial businesses on both sides of the street.
The suspect or suspects took an undetermined amount of coins from the machines, and damaged them in the process, police said.
The victim of the theft reported the incident to the Ypsilanti Police Department at 8:40 a.m. Monday.
Further information was not immediately available from the police.
