Traffic will be reduced to one lane on a portion of Bridge Road in Ypsilanti Township beginning Wednesday to allow crews from the Washtenaw County Road Commission to start re-paving the roadway.
Work on a seven-tenths of a mile stretch of Bridge Road between Textile Road and South Grove Street is expected to take two to three weeks to complete.
The shoulders of the road will be widened and paved to make room for bicycle lanes that will be added in each direction.
One lane of traffic will be maintained under flag control during construction.
Residents, businesses and deliveries will be able to maintain their access to locations along Bridge Road as work progresses.
