Officers with the Saline Police Department will be switching up their schedules beginning Sunday, according to a story on the Saline Reporter.
The new schedule, which was approved by the City Council, will put the officers on 12-hour shifts instead of their regular eight-hour shifts, the Reporter said.
The change in shifts is meant to give patrol officers more time off, as well as hopefully afford the department the ability to hire two new supervisors.
The story said Police Chief Larry Hrinik said it also was a way of addressing scheduling issues since many of the officers got two weekdays off, but never weekends.
