Ypsilanti police reported responding at 4:04 p.m. Tuesday to a home in the 200 block of North Huron Street to investigate a home invasion. The woman who lives at the home told police she was gone between 7:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. When she returned, the glass was broken out of her front door and the door was open.

Police said a laptop and a Nintendo Wii system were both reported stolen from the home.

Hours later, at 6:10 p.m., police responded to the 100 block of Warner for a report of a home invasion.

The resident said he left his home at 9 a.m. and returned at 6 p.m. Tuesday and found the front door to the house forced open. His 40-inch Samsung flat screen TV, Xbox and PlayStation were all reported stolen.

Police could not immediately be reached to say if the incidents are related.

There was no suspect description available in either incident.

Anyone with information on the two break-ins is encouraged to call the Ypsilanti police at 734-483-9510 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP (773-2587).
