Esquire Interiors owner Ted Barron wanted to make his store a one-stop shop for customers looking to go beyond window treatments and flooring. So after 60 years in business, the store has expanded its showroom to include furniture for those clients looking for a more all-around selection.

“Most of the time when we're selecting new floor covering or window treatments for a customer they’re in the process of matching it with newly purchased furniture, so it made good sense to me to be the one they were purchasing the furniture from.”

Esquire Interiors, a family-owned business, has been in operation since 1952 at 5863 Jackson Road in Ann Arbor and has now added an additional 4,000 square feet of showroom space dedicated to pieces from Norwalk Furniture.

The company decided to exclusively offer Norwalk because it’s American-made and high quality, Barron said. Norwalk is an Ohio-based company that was established in 1902. “They’re an employee-owned company with unmatched quality and guarantees that are unheard of in the industry. They offer hundreds of fabric choices ... and refined styling that's easily adapted to a wide range of decorative styles,” Barron said.

The Esquire Interiors showroom is now a 13,000-square-foot design center with 14 employees. Esquire is having a grand opening celebration Friday and Saturday.

The grand opening is from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on both days. “We have Sandhill Crane Winery coming in for wine tasting. We have the Ann Arbor Women's Art Association here featuring art from seven of their members. Of course lots of sales and specials on products.”
