A long-vacant storefront along Ellsworth Road in Ypsilanti Township soon will be occupied by a national retailer.
Contractors are working to build out 8,450 square feet of retail space in an outlot building in the Walmart-anchored Roundtree Plaza for a Lumber Liquidators store.
Ypsilanti Township Building Director Ron Fulton said the building was constructed in 2006 and initially occupied by a CiCi’s Pizza. CiCi’s moved out in 2007 and the space has remained vacant.

Express Seafood is the only other business in the building.
A contractor working at the Lumber Liquidators site would not say when the store is expected to open, but Fulton said the company has pulled all the necessary permits and received all the required planning approvals.
“They were in a rush to get permits and get moving,” Fulton said.
About 1,200 square feet will be used for a showroom and the rest will be used for a warehouse.
The plaza is owned by Delaware-based Galileo-Roundtree Place LLC, which is part of Brixmor Properties LLC.
Lumber Liquidators sells a variety of flooring products, mainly hardwood and laminates. The company has nearly 300 stores nationwide and the Ypsilanti Township store will be the eighth in Michigan.
According to its Web site, Lumber Liquidators is headquartered in Boston and started in 1993. The first store opened in 1996 and the company now has over 1,000 employees nationwide.
"They have good quality flooring and we're excited to have them in the township," Fulton said.
