WCC's Earth Day Celebration to inform the community on environmental solutions

Washtenaw Community College will host an Earth Day Celebration to encourage discussion and learning about living sustainably on Thursday.

Held in the Student Center, the event will feature non-profits, government agencies and area businesses sharing information about solutions to environmental problems. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about a number of topics, such as composting, green construction and transportation, wildlife and even the spiritual work of caring for the earth.

The event will also show present recycling and reusing at WCC and in the community, along with sustainable transit options that are being developed in Washtenaw County.

The celebration is open to all members of the community.

Thursday, April 11, 2013. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Free. WCC is located at 4800 E. Huron River Drive, Ann Arbor.
