"The Wolverines have epitomized hard work and discipline all season, and their Final Four win over Syracuse was a true showing of teamwork and all-around good basketball," Congressman Dingell said in a news release. "On behalf of the proud people of Ann Arbor and Michigan's 12th Congressional District, we look forward to welcoming Coach Beilein and the players back to Southeast Michigan as national champions. Go Blue."
The Wolverines and Cardinals face off Monday night in Atlanta, with the winner being crowned national champion.
Friendly wagers between elected officials are common during big sporting events, with the winners usually collecting something edible from the loser's city.
