The University of Michigan basketball team did not capture the National Championship on Monday night, but for five Michigan fans just being in Atlanta to cheer them on was a minor miracle according to a story from Fox17 Atlanta. The group was involved in a hit-and-run accident on Interstate 75 in Tennessee, but made it to the Final Four game Saturday night thanks to some helpful fellow Wolverines.

Rick Dzurnak and Ken McHenry were also headed down from Michigan to the Final Four in their RV when they noticed the young fans on the side of the road speaking with police, according to the report.

The teenagers immediately took up Dzurnak’s offer of a ride to Atlanta, telling the sheriff that they trusted the strangers because they were wearing maize and blue, the story said.
