Two cars were broken into Tuesday on Washtenaw Avenue between Golfside Drive and North Hewitt Road in Ypsilanti Township, police said.
The window of a car parked near the 2700 block of Washtenaw was smashed sometime between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. and a purse containing a wallet and other items was stolen, according to a news release.
A second car had a window that was broken out in the 2900 block Washtenaw at some point between 4:30 and 6 p.m. The suspect or suspects stole a purse containing a wallet and other items.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office is investigating the two incidents and said it's not known whether they are related.
