A University of Michigan student reported being robbed at knifepoint on North Campus Monday night by two unknown man, police said Thursday.
University of Michigan Police released a crime alert Thursday morning regarding the incident. Spokeswoman Diane Brown said the 19-year-old man reported the incident to police on Wednesday.Police said the 19-year-old student was walking on the sidewalk that connects Hayward Street and Hubbard Road when the men approached him. One of them took out a folding knife and threatened him.
The men demanded the student’s wallet and took cash before throwing the wallet aside. The men told him not to contact police and then fled the area on foot, police said.
The suspects are described as black men, about 20 years old, about 6-feet or 6-feet-1 inch tall. They were wearing dark clothing, including sweatshirt hoods over their heads. One of the men was heavyset and wearing a mask over his face, police said.
