Schwinn Stingrays, Black Phantoms, Elgin Skylarks, Dayton Huffmans and more were on display and for sale at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds on Sunday. Hundreds of bike fanatics drove, or rode, in for the 33rd Ann Arbor Classic Bicycle Show.
"It was huge this year," organizer Anne Kleppert said. "It's getting to a point where you don't want it to get too big."
She says they are trying to hold the show to a certain size so they can accommodate everyone. If it gets any larger, they will have to pay more for parking space, which would hike the cost of admission, Kleppert said.
More than 280 venders showcased merchandise ranging from bike parts to bobble head souvenirs. Some bikes for sale date back to the 1890's, but newer models were present as well.
Weather was a factor on Sunday. It started to mist in the morning as vendors arrived and there was a steady rain drizzle throughout the day. Some dealers blamed the rain for dampened sales, though Kleppert thought it didn't impact turnout.
"We were worried, but amazed that it didn't stop anybody from coming out," she said.
Next year's event will be held in the same place on April 27.
