A man was sent to the hospital after fighting with another man he believed tried to steal his laptop during a party in Ann Arbor early Sunday morning.
Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush said police were called at 2:53 a.m. Sunday to the 1000 block of Packard Street for a report of an assault.
Bush said a 20-year-old Sterling Heights man attempted to take a laptop belonging to one of the residents at the home during the party. The resident confronted the man when he saw him with the laptop and the two of them began yelling at each other.
The verbal confrontation quickly turned physical, and a fight ensued, Bush said. The resident suffered injuries to his right eye and his face and had to be taken to the emergency room.
The 20-year-old Sterling Heights man fled the party before police arrived, Bush said. No description of the man was released Monday.
