Pittsfield Township police didn't have to go far to find suspects after a person in the parking lot of Bob Evans restaurant on Carpenter Road reported an armed robbery early Friday morning.
Witnesses told officers that three suspects ran across the road to a hotel parking lot - and minutes later, police apprehended the men in a room at the Days Inn.
The incident started at about 1:20 a.m. when a 20-year-old Howell man said he was robbed in the parking lot of the restaurant, 2411 Carpenter Road. Three suspects - one with a knife - then ran toward the hotel.
Witnesses helped pinpoint the room the men entered.
Police arrested all three occupants of the room in connection with the robbery. A knife was confiscated, police said, along with narcotics.
The three men - ages 26, 28 and 33 - were taken to the Washtenaw County Jail, where they're expected to be arraigned today. The younger two are from Harrison Township in Macomb County, while the older suspect is from Marine City in St. Clair County.
The hotel is located just south of Washtenaw Avenue, near the U.S.-23 interchange.
