A 27-year-old Ypsilanti man was arrested early Thursday in Pittsfield Township after a resident reported that the man was trying to break into vehicles.
The Pittsfield Police Department responded to the 3700 block of Golfside Road at 4:25 a.m. for a reported larceny from an auto in progress, according to a news release. A resident in the area called 911 and reported that a man was trying to open the door to the vehicles parked in his driveway.Responding officers apprehended the suspect near the caller's home. They recovered suspected stolen property at that time.
The suspect was lodged at the police department pending further investigation and review of charges by the Washtenaw County Prosecutors Office, the release said.
