The new "Man of Steel" Superman movie has yet another Washtenaw County connection.
Wesley Coller, a 1999 Eastern Michigan University graduate, was co-producer, the Ypsilanti Courier reported.
Coller said the movie, based on the 75-year-old DC Comics character, will allow fans to connect with the superhero character in a way they haven't before.
According to the Courier, this is the sixth movie Coller has worked on with "Man of Steel" director Zack Snyder. Coller collaborated with Snyder on popular films such as “Dawn of the Dead,” “300,” and the “Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole." The film opens today.
AnnArbor.com previously reported that Ann Arbor native David S. Goyer worked as a co-writer on the new Superman movie. Goyer, 47, is a 1984 Ann Arbor Huron High School alumnus and a 1988 University of Southern California alumnus.
Goyer helped reinvent Batman with “The Dark Knight Trilogy” and co-wrote the trilogy with director Christopher Nolan, starting with 2005’s “Batman Begins.”
Last year’s “The Dark Knight Rises” grossed approximately $1.08 billion worldwide, barely beating 2008’s “The Dark Knight,” which grossed approximately $1 billion.
