A 36-year-old Northfield Township man has been accused of sexually assaulting an underage girl throughout the summer and faces a nine-count warrant, according to police.
The man, whose name is not being released because he has not been arrested or formally arraigned on the charges, is accused of sexually abusing an acquaintance throughout the summer months, said Northfield Township Lt. Tim Greene. The man is believed to have coerced the girl into having sex with him on a number of occasions, Greene said.
The warrant for the man’s arrest was authorized Tuesday and police went to the last known address for the man that night, Green said. However, he no longer lives there, Green said.
Police believe he’s still in the Northfield Township area, which lies north of Ann Arbor in Washtenaw County and are continuing to look for him.
The man faces three charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, four charges of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, one charge each of accosting a child for immoral purposes and aggravated indecent exposure, according to court records.
Greene did not release the age of the victim, but said she was under the age of 16 at the time of the alleged assaults.
