Carlos McBride, 30, has a preliminary exam at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. He was arraigned back in December on charges that he lit his own Ypsilanti Township home on fire and then went on a rampage with a baseball bat.
According to deputies, McBride smashed out eight car windows and three home windows after starting a fire in a home about 3 p.m. Dec. 18 in the 8800 block of Trillium Drive in Ypsilanti Township.
McBride allegedly confronted some construction workers at a home in the area and hit one of them with the bat before turning his eye toward a cement truck. He hit the truck numerous times, breaking two windows, and hit the driver, according to deputies.
Deputies eventually used a Taser on McBride to subdue and arrest him.
McBride is charged with arson of a dwelling, first-degree home invasion, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, assault with intent to rob while armed, and two counts of assaulting, resisting or obstructing a police officer.
McBride is being held in the Washtenaw County Jail without bond, according to jail records.
