Ready for snow? The Ann Arbor area could see the first flakes of the season next week, the National Weather Service says.
At this point it’s too early to be sure, but there’s a chance some snow could fall Tuesday, said Sara Schultz, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in White Lake. But there’s no need to haul out the snow boots. Even if it does snow, no accumulation is expected.

Computer models show Hurricane Sandy, now threatening the East Coast, heading north and then turning west. Forecasters fear the storm could collide with a mass of cold air sweeping east across the United States, creating high winds, heavy rain and snow.
If Sandy does end up affecting Michigan’s weather, the impact will likely be felt Wednesday and be limited to rain and wind, she said.
For the weekend, forecasters predict partly sunny days Saturday and Sunday, with highs in the upper 40s. Overnight lows will be near freezing. Monday will be mostly sunny with a high of 43, the weather service predicts.
Tuesday, there’s a 30 percent to 40 percent chance of rain and snow showers. It’ll be mostly cloudy with a high of about 42. The chance for rain or snow showers continues overnight Tuesday. The Halloween weather forecast says rain showers will still be possible on Wednesday and Wednesday night with a high of 44.
