A group of men beat and punched a Milan man, leaving him bleeding on the ground in front of an Ann Arbor bar early Sunday morning, police said.
Ann Arbor officers called to 1220 S. University Ave. at 1:50 a.m. Sunday found the 21-year-old man lying on the ground bleeding and suffering from multiple head injuries, Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush.
Witnesses told police the man and a friend, a 22-year-old from Ypsilanti, were walking along South University Avenue when a group of four men approached them and started yelling at them. As the two men continued walking, the group of four men followed and got closer to them.
One of the men then punched the Ypsilanti man, and the other three men jumped him outside the Blue Leprechaun, Bush said. The Ypsilanti man’s friend then joined the fight, she said.
As the fight continued, the men stomped on the victim and kicked him, Bush said.
A bouncer at the Blue Leprechaun broke up the fight, she said.
The victim was taken to the University of Michigan Hospital bleeding from the nose and mouth, Bush said.
Police are investigating the attack.
