Deputies with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the church, at 9900 Jackson Road, at 2 a.m. because the alarm was going off, according to a news release.

Police discovered a broken window, which they believe is how the suspect or suspects gained entry.

"(They) then rummaged through the main office and stole an unknown amount of cash that had been collected through donations over the weekend," the release said.

The investigation is ongoing, but there are no suspects at this time.

It's unclear if the theft was linked to other recent church break-ins in western Washtenaw County.
