Cash and a pistol were stolen from an Ann Arbor home during a break-in Wednesday morning after the suspect forced open a garage door.

Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush said the 60-year-old woman and 68-year-old man who live at the home in the 3100 block of Baylis Drive left the house from 9:30 a.m. until noon. They returned to find a drawer in the home’s TV cabinet open and a rear door unlocked.

Upon further investigation, the couple realized the gun and an unknown amount of cash had been stolen. The intruder pried open the home’s garage door to enter, Bush said.

There was no suspect information to release Thursday and police continue to investigate.

Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call the Ann Arbor police anonymous tip line at 734-794-6939 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800 SPEAK UP (773-2587).
