The man accused of helping beat a 55-year-old man to death in a 2006 break-in will stand trial in February, according to court records.

Jonathon Aiden, 32, was in Washtenaw County Trial Court Judge Archie Brown’s courtroom on Wednesday. Records show Brown set Aiden’s case for trial at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 4. He will return to court for a final pretrial hearing at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 23.
Aiden is accused of helping his uncle Shane Roscoe beat William Kenney to death during a break-in at a Scio Township auto dealership in August 2006. Roscoe was convicted in July of breaking into Jim Bradley Pontiac GMC, stealing auto equipment and materials and beating Kenney, who worked at the dealership.
Roscoe was sentenced to life in prison without the opportunity for parole.
Aiden was extradited to Michigan from Florida, where he claims he was at the time of Kenney’s death. However, prosecutors say they have evidence a cellphone with a number associated with Aiden was used near the dealership soon after the beating.
Aiden faces charges of open murder, breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony, safe breaking, conspiracy to commit breaking and entering and conspiracy to commit safe breaking. He is being held in the Washtenaw County Jail without bond.
