A detective testifying in the trial of Jeffrey Pyne, who is accused of killing his mother, said he saw a lot of blood at the crime scene and no signs of forced entry, the Detroit News reported.
Ruth Pyne, 51, was found on the garage floor of the family’s home in Highland Township in May 2011.
Police allege Jeffrey Pyne, 22, a University of Michigan student, killed his mother after becoming angry about her mental illness, The News reported.
Oakland County Sheriff's Detective Steven Zdravkowski, who testified Monday, talked about checking the exterior of the house and doing a room-by-room sweep with another officer in a search for other victims or suspects, The News reported. They found neither.
Zdravaovski also told jurors that Ruth Pyne's husband had called him to the house several days after the killing to point out that cash in the home had not been taken during the crime, but other items, including a box cutter, two board and a screwdriver, had, the Detroit Free Press reported.
