Police are investigating the theft of $3,000 worth of jewelry reported stolen Tuesday from a residence in the 3000 block of Foxridge Court in Ann Arbor.
The theft is believed to have occurred sometime between 8:45 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday when the residents' daughter, a 33-year-old Ann Arbor woman, arrived at the home to discover the front door unlocked and open.
The door appeared to have been opened with some sort of pry bar, said Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush.
Various rooms had been entered and ransacked, police said, and the jewelry was missing.
Police do not have a suspect at this time, but continue to investigate.
