Black Friday shoppers looking for deals should bundle up as they head out to brave the crowds because a cold front is coming to the Ann Arbor area.

Paul Walker, a senior meteorologist with AccuWeather.com, said a cold front is expected to come through the area Thanksgiving night.

Thursday morning, Ann Arbor residents woke up to dense fog in the area, that was expected to clear up by 10 a.m. The Thanksgiving forecast shows unseasonably warm temperatures during the day with a 60 degree high and partly sunny sky, but those temperatures are expected to fall at night.

"Thursday night is going to turn colder," Walker said. "There's going to be some showers for those early shoppers."

In addition to the scattered showers and mostly cloudy forecast, Walker said Friday will be windy and cold with a high of 47 degrees. The area might see gusts of wind up to 15 mph.

"The wind is going to make it feel like it's mid to upper 30s outside," he said.

Walker said over the years, he's seen Thanksgiving and Black Friday weather vary from mild to extremely cold.

Friday night, Walker said there could be some flurries going into Saturday night along with more showers. Roads could be slick due to the cold front and rainy conditions, Walker said.

"It could be a problem for people going home after Thanksgiving," he said.

Saturday will probably be the coldest day of the weekend, with an expected temperature of 38 degrees. Sunday's temperature will warm a bit and go back up to the low 40s.

Walker's advice for Black Friday shoppers camping out overnight?

"You'll want to stay dry with the temperatures turning colder," he said. "Keep yourself warm with layers of clothes."
