A thief or thieves took tools and lawn equipment from a storage shed and two garages in Ypsilanti recently, police said.
The thefts were all reported Thursday. The garages were open when the thefts occurred, but the storage shed was locked, police said.
The break-in at the storage shed was reported at 7:30 a.m. Thursday. Police said someone got into the locked shed in the 600 block of East Forest Street and took lawn equipment.
Callers reported the thefts from the garages at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday. In the first incident, someone entered an open garage in the 500 block of Thomas Street and took power tools. In the other case, someone took lawn equipment from an open garage in the 700 block of Charles Street, police said in a media summary.
It was not clear whether the thefts were related.
