Rally on U-M campus turns in to right-to-work protest

A rally on Friday at the University of Michigan for the U-M's Lecturers Employee Organization went from focusing on the pay gap between different faculty members to a right-to-work protest and organizational meeting, according to a Detroit Free Press story.

The 35 members of the LEO, along with the Graduate Employee Organization, had met on campus to begin negotiations between LEO and U-M regarding a new contract. The Free Press reported speakers began pointing out what they called attacks on unions..

After the talks, organizers encouraged everyone there to go to Lansing at 9 a.m. Tuesday to further protest the right-to-work legislation.
