A local car dealership presented a check for $2,000 to a program designed to help homeless young people to show their appreciation for the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office last week.
According to a statement released by deputies, Mike Mosser — general manager of Suburban Chevrolet, Cadillac, Saab — presented the check to Jennifer Martin, representing the Washtenaw Intermediate School District, on Thursday’s edition of the Lucy Ann Lance Show. The funds will go to the Education Project for Homeless Youth.
Washtenaw County Sheriff Jerry Clayton chose the educational project to receive the money after being contacted by Mosser, who wanted to show the dealership’s thanks for the hard work done by deputies in the past year.
The Education Project for Homeless Youth supports Washtenaw County students who are homeless and need help maintaining their studies. The program also provides whatever winter supplies it can to the students it supports.
“The WCSO and Sheriff Clayton wish to thank the education project for the great work they do to assist young people in Washtenaw County and Suburban Chevrolet, Cadillac, Saab for their generation donation to support the education project’s efforts,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
