A gas main leak has forced authorities to shut down Brown Drive just west of M-52 near Chelsea.
Construction workers hit a 4-inch gas main about 3:15 p.m. Monday, said Chelsea Area Fire Authority Chief James Payeur.
Brown Drive, which is just north of Interstate 94, was shut down by authorities while DTE Energy crews worked to repair the leak, Payeur said. As of 4:20 p.m., Payeur said he wasn't sure when the road would be opened back up to traffic.
There have been no evacuations due to the gas leak, authorities said.
No more information was immediately available.
Update: One lane of Brown Drive reopened around 6:30 p.m. DTE crews remained on scene.
