Ann Arbor police are investigating a home invasion in the city that took place Tuesday afternoon when the home’s residents had multiple items stolen while they were away.
Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush said a man knocked on the door at a home in the 1300 block of Geddes just before 1 p.m. Tuesday and asked for a woman by name. The resident told the man he had the wrong house, and then left a short time later.
The residents were gone between 1 and 3 p.m. Tuesday and returned to fine the home was entered through an unlocked back door. Bush said two laptops, an iPod, backpack, cash and a Nook tablet were all reported stolen.
It’s believed the person who knocked on the door before the residents left broke into the home. Bush said the man is black, middle aged and between 5-feet-8 and 5-feet-9 inches tall.
