A 27-year-old Ann Arbor man is being held on a $500,000 bond on home invasion and stalking charges after he was arrested last week.
Joseph Adkins is charged with first-degree home invasion and two counts of aggravated stalking stemming from an incident Saturday. Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush said police were dispatched at 8:03 a.m. Saturday to the 700 block of Miller Avenue for a breaking and entering report.
Bush confirmed Adkins was arrested but would not release details of the incident because it was a domestic violence situation.
Jail records indicate Adkins violated a previously established bond condition in a separate case. He had a hearing Tuesday morning for violating a no-contact order with the victim in the case he violated during the home invasion.
Online court records indicate Adkins pleaded guilty to one charge of third-degree retail fraud on April 15. He was sentenced on May 17 to one year of probation. A second charge of third-degree retail fraud was dismissed.
Adkins is lodged at the county jail after a weekend arraignment, Bush said. There is a no contact order between Adkins and the victim in the case.
A preliminary examination is set for 8:30 a.m. on June 6, Bush said.
If convicted, Adkins faces 20 years in prison and a $5,000 fine for the home invasion and five years in prison and a $10,000 fine on each stalking charge.
